Not conducive to weight loss!

I have 3 weeks to go before I leave the desert and my social life has quadrupled! Trying to spend time with everyone as much as I can, being pulled in all directions. Dinners, drinks, lunches, cocktails and nights out partying plus busy at work trying to finish everything up and running around organising shipping and last minute errands is not conducive to weight loss.

I have managed to do some exercise to try and combat this phase and not gain weight....which I think is helping a little. In fact, I tried a Tabata session last week and it was great. It is basically a set of exercises that you do for 20 seconds with a 10 second rest in between each set and you repeat about 8 times (although I only did 4)....similar to a circuit course. I have also done Jillian Michael Shred it DVD a few times...even though I haven't lost any weight I have noticed that I am toning up...my tummy is a little tighter and my arms are starting to show a little definition (not much, but a little).

I think I am going to get another fill next week...to see if I can just take the edge off and hopefully will stop me over-indulging...as much as I know I need to refocus and get back to basics, in reality it just isn't going to happen in the next few weeks. Once I am home, I am going to refocus on the important things and get back on track properly...in the mean time I just need to do damage control as much as I can.

Who would have thought that relocating would be so exhaustive...I have lived in many countries but never had this much going on before!

I have gotten a little behind in reading blogs and I will at some point catch up I hope...but I hope you are all doing well and living life to the fullest!

You've got so much going on - I think you are absolutely right to just do the best you can until you're back home - then you can spend the energy to refocus! Good luck until then.

I LOVE Tabata...that is how I'm doing 3 of my workouts each week. I do 15-20 different exercises and man does it get my heart rate up! The thing I like best about it though is that when you get to the 8th set, you know you are finally done with that exercise and don't have to do it any more that session. LOL...I hate some of them...like tricep kickbacks...whose idea of torture was that???

You have alot going on in your life at the moment so it is understandable that things aren't going to plan. As long as you do your best to stay in control, you will be fine :o)

Are you going home then? Last I heard you were heading East.

It sounds like you are doing great in spite of a lot of stress. Hang in there!

Roo - I'd be very interested to know how you see it going in Dubai based on the troubles the Arab world is experiencing at the moment. I know you're glad to be going for your own personal reasons, but do you think other people should think about it as well based on the situation in the Middle East? Or is Dubai different because of the wealth there is there?
Hope your packing is going according to plan...
